Thankful Thursdays are all about taking the time to appreciate all the little things that actually went right during the week. I am someone who can get flustered very easily - even when the smallest thing goes wrong. So why not focus on all the little things that went right and be grateful?
1. I am extremely thankful that school is finally over for my girls (as of Tuesday). I love the more relaxed pace of summer and I was more than ready for that.
2. I'm also thankful that now I can sleep in in them mornings. No more getting up at 6:30 am. Though so far I've managed to sleep until 7:30 am on Wednesday and this morning I was up before 7:00 am. What's up with that? I must be getting old. Ugh! But, it still feels wonderful not to set an alarm clock and to get up when I'm ready.
3. I'm also thankful that my sister-in-law hosted a fun and relaxing pool party and BBQ on Saturday. It was a great opportunity to see some family members that I don't see all that often. It was a great day.
4. I'm thankful that this past week was full of fun activities with my friends - book club, Moonlight and Magnolias and Mah Jong. Time with my friends is always time well spent.
How about you? What are you thankful for?

I am thankful to live such a mundane life. I used to crave excitement and now I see the beauty in the safety and security that I have. I'm thankful for the wisdom to appreciate it.
Even if I'm a bit more boring than I used to be ;)
I'm thankful for finding some low cost activities! My kids are breaking my wallet, and I'm determined to find things to do that they enjoy and yet are not breaking the bank. Not easy!
Beautiful idea!
I am thankful that our family survived the first two travels of the summer, especially Jack who is only 1.
I am thankful that I have such a nurturing husband who takes the reigns whenever I need some alone time.
I am thankful for like-minded bloggers who remind me that the world is good.
I am thankful that my daughter went away for the summer so that she could learn to want to be home again.
Pam, don't feel that willingly getting up early is a sign of getting old! I think it's a sign of someone who values time. I think getting up when I am ready (even if it's 5:30 on a beautiful morning when I have things I WANT to do) is the ultimate luxury.
I'm thankful for that pool party/BBQ, too, as I was there and got to visit with people I don't see very often either.
I am thankful for school being out, too!
Here's to a lovely summer vacation!
I'm thankful for time spent on the deck - alone or with the kiddos (the hubs avoids it like the plague)
I'm thankful that I've been able to get my garden going this year without the evil deer nibbling it to death!
I'm thankful for swimming pools in 102 degree heat!
I am thankful that my back is feeling better.
I am thankful that I have friends that love me as much as I love them.
I am thankful that I am still cancer free.
I am thankful that you still follow my blog!

Ginger - Traveling with a one year old? You're very brave!
Alex - This is brilliant. Katie is away right now, too. I hope it works. *fingers crossed*
Duck - I bet. I wish we had some heat.
I just found your blog this morning. I follow a few, but don't have one of my own. I'm new at all this. I love your site! I'm thankful for my two beautiful daughters, I'm thankful for a loving and caring husband, I'm thankful for the sunshine and summer. I'm thankful to be literate! I am thankful I love books. Thanks for encouraging all these thoughts; it's made my day bright!
