2010 Pulitzer Prize Winner
On April 12, the 2010 Pulitzer Prizes were announced. The prize for fiction was awarded to Tinkers by Paul Harding. I was so surprised when I read this because just the day before I received an email from Amazon with a list of recommended books. None of which I had heard about, by the way. (That always makes me nervous. But, I digress). One of the books listed was Tinkers! So when I read the Pulitzer announcement I felt vindicated that not only had I heard of Tinkers, I had even added it to my "to be read" list. Only problem is, now it's going to take a long time before I can get my hands on a copy. Oh well. Something to look forward to. Here's hoping I enjoy it as much as I did last year's winner - Olive Kitteridge.

Thanks for posting the list for us. I'm always looking to add to my reading list. :)
I read the synopsis on Goodreads, and I'm not sure it's for me. It is a short book, but it seems over my head.....lol, not sure I understand it.
Please review Pam when you do read it.
It is so interesting that you posted this because I literally just read an article about the author in today's Boston Globe! He is a local guy! And it does sound like an interesting book. The article may be on the Globe's website. You might find it interesting. It talks about how he went from obscure to Pulitzer Prize with his first humble novel.
I wondered who had won the fiction Pulitzer and haven't had time to look. I also figured you might be the one to fill me in. Another one to check out. Actually read yesterday - long story - but finished a book. Had most fun.
Thanks for keeping me in the loop.
Just the title of that book amkes me want to read. Don't you just love great titles?!
Thanks for the heads-up, Pam - I went right to my library website and requested Tinkers. I'm only 7th on the list...maybe I'll actually read something hot while it's still hot for a change!
