Considering Katie went to her Junior Prom last Friday, it was very easy to choose this week's Sentimental Sunday photo:
Unfortunately I didn't get any great "formal" pictures of Katie in her gown, but this goofy shot of Katie (in the blue dress) and her friend Kelsey makes me smile. They look so happy! And yes, that is a giant sculpture of a celery stalk. Kelsey's mom rents a house from a sculptor and this is just one of the several interesting sculptures in her garden. Believe it or not, we chose not to take a picture of the girls with the giant baboon. LOL!

Yes, very happy and just gorgeous!
Don't worry about not getting any "formal" shots...in my experience, the goofy shots with your friends are the ones that you look back on and grin at years later. This one's perfect. :)
Ohhhh, it is so Sentimental. They look like they're having fun and that is what it is all about! Makes me want to cry... my girls are 24 and 22 and it brings back memories. But then I have been a sop for a few weeks now and that is really not like me! Lol
This picture is a great one, both girls look like they are having a blast and that is much better than a formal posed shot!
Looks very fun!
Sandy - Yes, Katie did look gorgeous. She had her hair and makeup done professionally and it looked great. I do have some close ups of that I will send them to you and Dad.
Sharon - I'm sorry this picture made you feel teary about your grown up girls! I'm sure I will feel the same way a couple of years from now.
C and Anita - Thank you for making me feel better about not getting a good "formal" shot of Katie. I was really bummed about it at first, but now I realize you are both right and this picture will bring back more happy memories in the future.
What lovely dresses they have! Both lovely girls as well! And the celery? CRACKS me UP!
Katie looked wonderful Pam! It's hard to believe she's old enough for a prom when I can still remember holding her (and Madeleine) as infants...I feel like the aunt who sent me a letter during freshman year at Muhlenberg that said something about how it was amazing that all the kids were growing up but they (the adults) were still the same age! Where did all the years go?
Gail
Terra - Thank for your compliment on their dresses. I took both girls shopping and it was amazing that they each found their dress IMMEDIATELY! And the celery IS pretty funny!
Gail - I hear you! I still remember when you visited me soon after Katie was born. I can still picture the photos I took during that visit, too. Katie has grown and changed a lot, but not us. We look EXACTLY the same!
Awww prom is always such a big moment in a high schooler life!
Katie and Kelsey were beautiful! :)
I hope they had fun!
Celine - Prom really is such a big deal to a teenage girl. Katie and Kelsey both had a great time!
Love the picture and Katie does look sooo happy and so beautiful! So many Sentimental moments yet to come...enjoy every one.
Colleen

It looks like they had a great time :) You're right-- they look very happy!
I love that picture, your daughter is beautiful and the color blue is a great color on her!! I like informal shots as well, it's fun to see their excitement : ) Glad she had a great time~
Bethany - They did have a great time!
Crystal - Thank you for your kind compliment. Katie really did look great in that dress. It was the perfect silhouette for her figure. And, bonus, it's her favorite color!
