A Quick Update

I know I've been MIA from Pam's Perspective and from all of your blogs for quite awhile. It's been a combination of being super busy, feeling uninspired and (occasionally) pure laziness. But I haven't completely forgotten about blogging. I do have "guilt" about not updating and visiting. Is that crazy or what? I guess I'm at a point of reevaluation. Anyway, here's a quick update:

I read a really great book last month for the book club I run at the library. It's called The Leisure Seeker by Michael Zadoorian. It was well liked by all the club members. The story is about two octogenarians who are suffering from health issues. Ella has cancer and her husband, John, has Alzheimer's. Ella narrates the story and her voice is incredibly funny and charming. Against the advice of their children and doctors, Ella and John embark on a cross country road trip in their RV - the Leisure Seeker. Along the way they reminisce about their long marriage, past family vacations, good friends and life journey. It's a wonderful story full of laughter and love. On the surface it appears to be a light read, but it is full of deeper truths and wisdom. I loved it!

I've also been busy with the upcoming Graduation of my daughter Katie and all the end of year events that that entails. It's been a lot of fun, but exhausting. In the last week, we've attended a Chorus Banquet, an Awards Night, a special Chorus Performance (our last one), the HS Graduation of our dear friends from a nearby HS AND Katie's two-day Freshman Orientation. Phew! And this weekend is Katie's Friendship Service (whatever that is) on Saturday and Graduation on Sunday followed by a party in our backyard (now they are predicting rain. Ugh!) As I said, I've been busy!

I promise to post photos and more details after Graduation.

Congrats to your daughter (and to you) regarding graduation!

I actually took care of a couple that were elderly and taking a road trip across the country. The sad thing is, they were both unable to take care of themselves and ended up in the emergency room. But I do love the idea of this book!

I hear what you say about the reevaluation...
the book sounds great.
have a great graduation! we have a party for ours at the end on June but it's combined with my son's best friend. I can't believe how much less stressful that makes it compared to my oldest.
take care!

I know how you feel. I haven't been as good about posting on my blog as I usually am, but I refuse to feel guilty! Whether I'm busy, uninspired, distracted or just lazy, that's my choice. It's my blog.

Congratulations to Katie! I hope she enjoys her last few days as a high school student. And, I'm doing the no-rain dance for Sunday!

The book sounds really good right up my ally!
I know how crazy busy you are, end of the school year is busy, but graduation on top of that is wild!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I know you are proud of all that Katie has accomplished, it's really a huge beginning for her. Also be proud of you and Geoff, you've done a wonderful job.
Take care, miss you Pam!

That looks like my kind of read. I am going to our library site to put it on hold. Life does get insane at times, doesn't it? Congrats on your daughter's graduation!

I hear ya. Graduation from high school, especially the week before, is an event unto itself. My kids had so many events their last week of their high school years, I'm still recovering. Congrats on Katie's graduation. Hope you all are at least having some fun amongst all that business.

Congratulations to Katie! I know what you mean - I've been feeling much less inspired about blogging lately myself. It comes and goes.

I know what you mean! Soon you will be able to breath again and with it be a little melancholy. Life goes on and we learn to change, whether we want to or not. Lol I know my comment is late so if all your fetivities are over, just know my heart goes out to you.
